For GUILFORD COUNTY school board

Education Funding

Funding for education has always been a concern.  We can all agree that we need to adequately fund public education.  But what does that mean?

Since 2010, education funding in North Carolina has increased dramatically.  We are now spending more on public education than ever.  But the educational establishment says it's still not enough. Maybe we need to focus on spending smarter.

When the current Guilford County school board voted to give Mo Green over $40,000 in parting gifts they took $40,000 out of our classrooms.  Just the $30,000 in cash and extra vacation would have paid for 1,000,000 copies or 68,000 rolls of toilet paper.  When you look at every decision through the lens of what is best for the students, instead of what is best for the administrative staff, you can avoid wasteful spending like this.
